A38 Maintenance Work at Turfdown Roundabout

Improvements and maintenance work on the Turfdown Roundabout and A38 between Carminow and Colesloggett will begin Monday March 15.

In order to make journeys more reliable for road users, the Highways Agency will resurface the road and widen the surface area, improve the kerbing, lights and road signs, and clear vegetation.

Narrow lanes and a 30mph speed limit will be in place on a 1.3 mile section of the A38 running west from the Turfdown Roundabout until works are completed at the end of April. During the night time work temporary traffic lights will also be in use.

The first phase of the work will consist of daytime working between 7am and 7pm, Monday to Friday. This will continue until approximately April 14.

From mid April works will be carried out overnight between 8pm and 6am the following morning Monday to Friday.

Diversions will be in operation at various times during the works and will be signed in advance.

Highways Agency Project Manager, Roger Stribling, said: "We have planned these works so as to allow us to carry out the improvements and maintenance in a safe manner whilst causing the least possible inconvenience to road users.”

DIVERSION ROUTES: At various times during the works traffic travelling on Lanhydrock Rd from Lostwithiel wishing to travel eastbound on the A38 from Turfdown roundabout will be diverted westbound to Carminnow roundabout where they can then travel back on the A38 eastbound.

During some of the overnight works there will be side road closures and traffic will follow clearly signed local diversion routes.

During the closures traffic travelling from Bodmin wishing to travel westbound on the A30 will be diverted along the old A30 to Innis Downs.
