organisers expecting that over 5,000 people will enjoy tasty food and cooking demonstrations.
Festival director, Toby Budd, said: “This is great news for the Fal River Festival. We are looking to top 150 events this year and the Falmouth fish festival is another great headline event which is only possible thanks to the help from our sponsors, the Greenbank Hotel and Rick Stein’s Fish and Chips, as well as Falmouth Festivals Ltd who run Events Square.
“The fish festival will be a great opportunity to showcase some of the fantastic seafood that is caught around our coast. The theme of the festival is all about getting people to try fish dishes which they would not normally eat and we will have a range of hot and cold food stalls where visitors can sample a variety of fish and shellfish.’’ Visitors will be able to enjoy a range of cooking demonstrations by local chefs, and hopefull be inspired to try the dishes at home.
Kearan McVey, Greenbank Hotel’s general manager, said: “We’re working in association with Stein’s to put a varied cooking programme together over the two days. As well as live cooking demonstrations there will be market stalls, live music and a range of other attractions and exhibits for visitors to enjoy.
Rupert Wilson, general manager at Stein’s added: “We are very excited about getting involved and the timing is perfect with the opening of our new Falmouth restaurant this spring.”
