More than 1,700 women from Falmouth, Penryn, Helston and the surrounding areas took part in the annual Cancer Research race for life event in Falmouth today.
As the traditional warm-up began the sun also came out as the runners, walkers and joggers - including Packet sub-editor Claire Cameron - aimed to raise thousands of pounds for the charity.
The 5km race, supported by the Packet, started at 11am at Gyllyngvase car park, Falmouth and took competitors along Cliff Road, around Pendennis headland and back to the car park.
The Falmouth event was the first charity race to be held in Cornwall this year with further races being held at Truro, Penzance and the Eden Project in the coming months. To enter a race log on to www.raceforlife.org
