Falmouth now has three mobility scooters and a wheelchair to help people take advantage of the town’s great shopping.
The helping had for people with mobility problems comes thanks to a grant from Cornwall Council, and come ready made with baskets on the front to fill with bargains.
The scooters and wheelchair can be hired for the day and are being administers by the town centre managers office, with costs being kept as low as possible.
Richard gates, Falmouth’s town centre manager said that people have already been saying positive things about the scheme , with one holiday maker changing his plans to come to the town as they were so cheap to rent.
Jhe said the idea behind the scheme was to make the town as accessible to as many people as possible and that locals and visitors are welcome to rent them for just £3.
At the moment the scheme only operates from Monday to Friday but Richard is on the look out for a business to help extend it through the weekends.
