Pupils past and present joined a special reception in Truro to celebrate the career of a swim teacher who has been making a splash in Cornwall for 25 years.
The Len Hatcher swim school, run by both Len and Didge Hatcher, has been teaching swimming and related subjects across the county for a quarter of a century. The swim school now operates in the 25- metre swimming pool at Truro School, where the reception was held, and smaller pupils go to Truro Prep School pool.
Over 60 guests came to the event, among them were old swim teachers, pupils and friends.
Didge said: “It was a delightful day and a good turn out. We are very grateful to the Head of Truro School for providing everything to make our celebration a success.”
One trainee teacher said to Len: “Fifteen years after learning to swim with you I am now teaching with you. I really admire and appreciate the passion, commitment and drive you have bestowed in your wisdom to the community of swimmers that have come and learnt with you.
“Teaching with you is a real blast and I hope to continue at least until your 50th anniversary.”
