A public meeting that was due to take place this Friday over the planned move to Falmouth Post Office has been rescheduled.

Truro and Falmouth MP, Sarah Newton, has organised the meeting to discuss the proposals to move the office to Market Strand.

The meeting will now held on Friday, November 5 at the town’s rugby club, at 6pm - a week later than planned.

People at the meeting will hear more details about the scheme to relocate the office from its current premises on The Moor to another site which has been a Spar shop on Market Strand.

The meeting will be a chance for Falmouth residents to voice their concerns and views about this proposal.

Representatives of the Post Office will be in attendance so that the public will be able to question them directly over the plans for this relocation and the implications this will have over their postal services in the community.

The meeting will be chaired by Falmouth mayor, Geoffrey Evans, at the Falmouth Rugby Football Club.

“I call upon all residents who are concerned by this proposal to come along to the meeting to air their views. Local people who are opposed to this scheme must make their opposition known and their voices must be heard,” said Ms Newton.

“I am looking forward to this public meeting and for the issues surrounding the future of our post office to be debated in full.”
