Penryn’s mayor welcomed 150 guests to the Falmouth Hotel to help raise money for the Royal British Legion (RBL) and enjoy a meal and live entertainment in a Poppy Ball.
Mary May ran the event because the RBL were her chosen charity this year and through an auction, raffle and donations, the event managed to raise £2,000 for the cause.
“When it all came together it was quite humbling that we could get so much support for the British Legion,” she said. “So a very big thank you for all the support.”
