West Cornwall has so far escaped the worst of the bad weather. Today, west of Bodmin Moor was business as normal although those travelling in and out of the county found snow and ice a problem.
Heavy snowfalls overnight caused severe disruption in some parts of east Cornwall.
The two main trunk roads between Cornwall and Devon - the A38 and the A30 – are said to be atrocious.
Newquay Airport is open, but travellers have been advised there could be some disruption to flights.
snow has also affected Callington, Bude and Penwithick, areas with police advising drivers not to start their journeys.
Snow is forecast for the southwest later today but is expected to pass through. Plumetting temperatives later this eventing are expected to cause further problems for motorists.
