Truro Amateur Operatic & Dramatic Society have donned their comical hats to present the iconic British treasure Dad's Army. This well loved BBC series makes a wonderful stage show with all the laughs and characters you will remember and of course the much loved catch phrases and mannerisms.

The evening as a whole includes three comedies from the television series written by Jimmy Perry and David Croft - The Deadly Attachment, famous for its "Don't tell him, Pike" line; Mum's Army in which Mainwaring has a Brief Encounter-style liaison with a gentile lady who joins the Home Guard; and The Godiva Affair wherein the platoon dress and perform as Morris Dancers and the town officials have to select a suitable Lady Godiva for the forthcoming pageant. Finally, The Floral Dance, which is a short sketch that was added to the Dad's Army stage show and proved very successful, allowing the entire cast to burst into song - most apt for an operatic society... or not, in this case!

Directed by Mike Meer, and with a sterling cast of seasoned actors including Colin Groom and Steve Cleaver, best know for their hilarious performances in 'Allo Allo', and Richard Pears (Tywardreath Players) and Arthur Nash (Kernow Players) making their debuts with TAODS, the plays also feature Gina Walkey, Wendy George and Tracey Hughes all of whom have been acting with the society for over 20 years. This slick and laugh a minute production is sure to capture the true spirit of such a well known comedy classic with memorable characters like Captain Mainwaring, Sergeant Wilson, Corporal Jones and Private Frazer all interpreted expertly by this very talented society.
