Youngsters can learn circus skills over the Easter holidays thanks to eight sessions being held at Penryn Library, starting Tuesday.

To coincide with the library’s 20th anniversary, Swamp Circus is running two sessions per day over four, in which youngsters can learn everything from mime and acrobatics to juggling, stilts and clown work.

The morning sessions on each day, between 10am and noon, are for six to ten-year-olds. They can also learn the tight wire and Diablo.

The afternoon sessions, between 2pm and 4pm, are for 11 years and over. They will be offered the chance to try out the trapeze.

Sessions take place on April 12, 14, 19 and 21, costing £6. All four sessions can be booked for a discounted cost of £20, in advance.

Extra sessions, in the form of 70-minute ‘electrick cabaret’ afternoons, begin at 3pm on April 16 and 23, costing £5/£7.

Workshops in acrobatics and trapeze are also taking place at Falmouth Sports Club on Sundays, at 2pm to 3.30pm for seven to ten-year-olds and 4pm to 5.30pm for over 11s. Both cost £5.

These are followed by hula hoop classes at 6pm for £4, or £3 for people taking their own hoop.
