Falmouth Week kicks off tomorrow with the popular walking carnival.

Hundreds of people in colourful fancy dress will take part in the annual parade, which marks the beginning of a week of sailing and celebrations.

The carnival is a walking-only parade, with no motorised vehicles allowed to take part.

People are asked to meet at Falmouth Rugby Club on Tregenver Road in plenty of time for the parade setting off at 6.30pm tomorrow evening.

It will then make its way down Killigrew Street, before making its way to Falmouth Watersports Club via The Moor, Market Street, Church Street and Arwenack Street.

Entrants do not need to register to take part and can simply turn up at the rugby ground and join the other revellers on the parade through the town.

It marks the beginning of the shoreside events side of Henri Lloyd Falmouth Week for 2011.

Next week will see acts including Tinchy Stryder and The Wurzels playing live in the town, as well as the traditional 80s v 90s, Caribbean and 80s vs 90s celebration evenings.

There will also be an exciting aerobatics display by the Red Arrows on Wednesday at 6.15pm.

These events run alongside a busy sailing programme
