Organisers of this year’s Helford Passage Regatta have claimed tomorrow’s event will be the best one yet.
New for this year is a children’s fancy dress competition, for youngsters aged ten and under, with the theme of Pirates and Princesses.
Judging will take place at the start of the event, at noon.
There will then be boat races, swimming and running races, a tug of war competition, sandcastle and sand sculpture competitions and a face painter.
Food and drink will be available and there will be a tombola, cake and craft stalls, as well as a raffle.
The day will be rounded off with music from five-piece band In Colour from 7pm, on the terrace of the Ferry Boat Inn.
Rob Yates, committee member for the Helford Passage Regatta, said: “We have worked hard to make this year’s event the best ever on our beautiful Helford River.”
Proceeds from the day will go to Falmouth RNLI, although the raffle ticket takings will be donated to Mawnan PTA.
