A Penryn based visual effects artist has had his work recognised at an international Turkish awards ceremony.
Matt Walsh co-created the video for the song “Son Defa”, which translates as “Last Time”, by singer-songwriter Emre Aydin.
The video, which has been watched more than 1.4 million times on YouTube, won the Best Music Video of the year award at the Golden Butterfly awards.
Matt said: “I'm very proud that our hard work has been recognised with such a prestigious award.”
“This was a challenging project with the usual tight time-scales and a globally-dispersed production team.”
Matt completed post-production work on the video over four days in his Penryn studio and it was from here that he collaborated remotely with director Serdar Ferit, who was in Liberia and Barcelona-based editor Daniele Mercanti.
Matt said: “When the superfast fibre broadband arrives in Penryn next year, there will be little technological difference for remote clients between working with me and working with a Soho agency.
“It will create a foundation for film post-production to become a viable and valuable new industry for Cornwall.”
