A number of staff have been suspended .
The council has said that the suspension did not imply anyone was guilty of anything, however, as with any allegations, suspension was an automatic process.
The day centre for people with learning disabilities deals with more than 80 people.
Families have been sent letters explaining tat the investigation was launched following allegations made to the council. Concerned families can call a help line on 01208 251300.
