Helston’s RNAS Culdrose will have a starring role in bringing the Olympic flame to the UK this summer.
The flame for the Olympic Torch Relay will arrive at Culdrose from Greece on a British Airways flight on May 18, Reuters are reporting today. It will be kindled in Olympia on May 10, followed by a short relay around Greece ahead of the flame’s journey to the UK for the London 2012 games.
The main torch relay will begin at Land’s End on May 19 and end in Stratford on July 27.
- More details about plans for the torch relay to come through Helston on launch day appear in today’s Packet, out now.
