The Newquay lifeboat had to tow a fishing boat back to shore after its propeller was fouled by a rope, leaving it drifting close to rocks.
The incident was reported at 7.40am on Sunday, when the local boat Pra Nang was fishing off the Madrips.
A spokesman for the RNLI said: "The lifeboat launched with Ross King at the helm.
"Arriving on scene they were unable to clear the rope from the propeller so took the casualty in tow back to Newquay harbour."
