The Coastguard and RNLI were called into action last week after two teenagers had to be rescued from the rocks off Swanpool Beach after they became stranded.
Falmouth Coastguard called out the inshore lifeboat last Tuesday to help the two marooned youths, who were also being assisted by two coastguard cliff rescue teams.
The cliff rescue team had already located the casualties and they guided the lifeboat onto their position.
Gerry said: “Because of the swell, the lifeboat crew were experiencing a little difficulty in getting the lifeboat in close enough to the casualties to effect the rescue - so they landed one of the crew members onto the rocks who then prepared the casualties for their rescue, fitting them with inflated lifejackets.”
One by one the pair were passed into the lifeboat and returned to the lifeboat station to recover, arriving at 7:46pm.
The teenagers had suffered no injuries so once they had recovered from their ordeal they were sent on their way.
