A TRURO nightclub has been heralded as the best-run club in Cornwall at an awards ceremony organised by Cornwall Council.
The Best Bar None Awards Evening were held at The Eclipse Nightclub in Bodmin last Wednesday evening.
The scheme, based on national best practice to promote responsible management and operation of alcohol licensed premises, rewards premises that meet minimum standards for licensing legislation including prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, prevention of nuisance, health and safety and protection of children Those premises accredited for 2012 were: The Central Inn, Newquay; Sound, Penzance; The Office, Truro; Walkabout, Newquay; Bar Help, Newquay; Vanilla Bar, Truro, and Zafiros, Truro.
In a close contest the overall winner of Cornwall Best Bar None for 2012 was announced as Zafiros, Truro.
Councillor Pat Harvey, Chairman of Cornwall Council said, “I have been very impressed by the management standards achieved by all the applicants.
“Well run licensed premises make a valuable contribution to Cornwall in providing social venues for our communities and visitors to the county.
“I have enjoyed being involved in recognising the excellence achieved by our award winners and having the opportunity to meet them.”
