Truro has inspired an artist to created a very special piece of art work to raise funds for Cornwall Wildlife Trust and Compassion in World Farming. Suzy Sharpe's 5ft by 4ft canvas is one of 17 pieces produced by artists who all took to the streets of Truro at the recent Big Art event - part of Art in the City.

Each artist created their own piece of art in just 8 hours with the theme, ‘My View of Truro’.

The canvas will be displayed in City Music until Thursday April 12 at 6pm, when it will be auctioned at the Big Art Auction at The Lander Gallery in Lemon Street Market, Truro.

Fifty per cent of the proceeds will go to Cornwall Wildlife Trust, to help raise funds as part of their 50th Anniversary celebrations.

A spokesman for the trust said: “We are very grateful to Suzy not only for creating this beautiful piece of art work, but also that we will benefit from 50 per cent of the proceeds from its sale.

"Suzy has been a great supporter of the Trust for many years and it is fantastic that she has donated this piece to help raise funds to protect Cornwall’s wildlife and wild places.”
