Port's summer evening lights plan (From Falmouth Packet)

Port's summer evening lights plan
7:20am Thursday 31st May 2012 in News
Key areas of Porthleven will be lit up from this Friday (June 1) for the rest of the summer.
Thanks to Porthleven Lights Community the harbour area, Peverell Terrace and Harbour View will be lit every evening until mid September with strings of lights, which will be illuminated from around 9pm until midnight.
By mid to late June it is also hoped to have work completed in order to light the Lime Kiln on Breageside.
Plans are well in hand to improve and increase the displays at Christmas time, along with a modified electrical supply system for other groups who would to make use of power on the Harbour Head for their own events.
The lights committee has recently gained some extra volunteers to enable these projects to be carried out but are still desperately short of one or two people who could help co-ordinate everyone.
Peter Ward, chair of the committee, said: “We really need somebody to help set up the work parties and pull it all together – a bit like a project manager, albeit on a much smaller scale.
“At the moment the four main committee men are trying to do all of this work by themselves and we are running out of steam. If somebody could come forward to give a helping hand in this area then it would be a great relief as we cannot carry on like this for very much longer.”
