Tables lined the playground of Parc Eglos Primary School last Friday as excited pupils took part in a jubilee ‘street’ party.
The whole school enjoyed a special party lunch outside, to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Tables decked with Union Flag table clothes were laden with sandwiches, crisps, biscuits and cakes, while pupils wore clothes in red, white and blue.
Many of them also had colourful hats and hair-bands, or their faces painted in the patriotic colours, and waved flags.
Every pupil was given a cupcake baked by school cooks Sue Bubb and Carole Williams, catering manager, which had been decorated in different icing and laid out to look like a Union Flag.
There was lots of excited chatter from the youngsters, who were delighted to be leaving the classroom for a few hours.
