Five-year-old plays key role in An Gof commemoration
As St Keverne marked this year’s An Gof commemoration little Aaliyah Patterson had a starring role to play.
The five-year-old was asked to lay flowers on the statue of Michael An Gof and Thomas Flamank, which stands at the entrance to the |village.
Dressed in a bright red coat, little Aaliyah proved a welcome splash of colour in a dark and misty evening.
The annual commemoration event remembers the leaders of the Cornish Rebellion in 1497, who marched to London in protest at a rise in taxes and ultimately sacrificed their lives for the cause.
