Could it be alien waste or a chemical spillage? Lurid green water in Helston’s kennels left shoppers scratching their heads on Saturday.

The startlingly fluorescent lime-coloured water flowing down each side of Coinagehall Street attracted plenty of attention. Heads were bent over to peer into the day-glo depths as shoppers and residents walked along the street at around 4pm.

Half an hour later, however, the majority of the kennel appeared to have returned to its normal colour – although there was noticeably less water flowing.
