Trewithen Estate hosts cancer charity fundraiser
MORE than 1,000 people attended a Country and Classics event at the Trewithen Estate, at Probus, organised to raise funds for the Marie Curie Nursing Service.
Daphne Skinnard of BBC Radio Cornwall introduced Alexandra Bolitho, county patron for Marie Curie Cancer Care who opened the event.
Some 70 classic cars and motorcycles were on display along with 20 new luxury cars from local dealerships Carrs Jaguar Land Rover, Threemilestone, Carrs Truro Audi, Carrs Ferrari and Maserati Exeter, Mercedes-Benz of Truro and Perranwell Garage Morgan.
Stalls included fine country crafts and food stalls, and music was provided by St Styhians Male Voice Choir, Bugle Band, Towan, Carole Bannister and The Roseland Community Choir. The Cornwall Remote Control Club provided a display and a fun dog show was well attended.
The day raised £7,000 which will fund 350 hours of Marie Curie Nursing care in Cornwall.
