The Lizard and Helston Rotary Club have held their first charity beer festival at the Wheal Dream bar and restaurant in Helston, to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association.
The ‘Summer Dreaming’ beer festival ran from Friday afternoon, through until Sunday with thirsty connoisseurs able to enjoy the fruits of local brewers and fine real ales. Family friendly activities at the festival included a BBQ, music, a free bouncy castle and face painting.
A provided minibus acted as free transport to the event, running from Helston Coinage Hall. Weal Dream owner Barry Clarke said he was was overwhelmed by the success of the charitable event.
He said: “It was great, I got lots of great feedback...I would definitely do it again”.
Rotary spokesman Tony Smart has confirmed that the event will be retuning again next year due to its popularity, adding: “Special thanks to Skinners Brewery and the Wheal Dream, not to mention all those who supported the event”.
