Second severe weather warning issued for Cornwall

A second severe weather warning has been issued for Cornwall for this week.

The warnings are now in place for both Wednesday and Friday, with heavy rain and strong winds predicted for both days.

The warning issued by the Met Office for Wednesday reads: "Heavy rain, accompanied by strong winds, is expected to spread north during Wednesday morning and afternoon, to affect parts of western England, much of Wales and Northern Ireland.

"The heaviest rain is likely to clear from the south by evening, but the strong winds may peak a little later.

"The public should be aware of the possibility of surface water flooding and the likelihood of difficult conditions for travel and some summer holiday pursuits."

Friday's warning states: "Heavy rain, accompanied by strong winds, is expected to spread northwards during Friday, to affect parts of southwest England and Wales.

"The public should be aware of the possibility of surface water flooding and minor disruption to travel."
