Helston and St Keverne YFC hold 'mystery weekend'

It is two of the most eagerly anticipated days of Helston and St Keverne Young Farmers Club’s calendar: the Mystery Weekend.
Each year club leaders organise a series of activities for members over the course of two days, often inviting another club to join in the fun.
This year the club welcomed Maybn YFC, which will be repaying the favour for Helston and St Keverne YFC members next month. The fun began last Friday evening, with an It’s A Knockout competition.
Despite the ground being a little damp, various rounds took place, including a sack race, a crate race and searching for items in a pool. The event was well supported by teams and a disco was held afterwards.
The club has thanked the Alston family for hosting the event on their farm and members of the advisory committee for setting up and manning the barbecue. The Mystery Weekend continued on Saturday with an array of activities.
A carvery lunch to set everyone up for the afternoon ahead was enjoyed, before members moved on to Church Cove where a surfing lesson was held.
Everyone made a great effort and did well to catch some waves in a rough sea. This was followed by a visit to Helford Passage, where boat rides were given by Hayden Jenkin.
