Candidates named for by-election

Voters will have a choice of four candidates when the election for a new Cornwall Councillor for the St Keverne and Meneage division is held later this month.
The by election, which is being held following the sad death of Pam Lyne, will take place on Thursday, September 20.
The four candidates standing are Nicholas David Driver for the Liberal Democrats, Sandra Martin for UKIP, Steven Frederick Richards for Labour and Walter Norman Sanger for the Conservatives.
Members of the public who are not currently registered have until midnight on Wednesday, 5 September to register to vote in the by election.
Electors who are unable to vote in person on polling day have until 5pm on Wednesday, 5 September to apply to vote by post and until 5pm on Wednesday, 12 September to apply to vote by proxy.
There will be eight polling stations used for the by election: Manaccan Village Hall, Cury Chapel, Gunwallow Village Hall, St Peter’s Church Hall, Coverack; St Keverne Church Hall; Mawgan Recreation Hall; St Martin-in-Meneage Parish Hall and Gweek Village Hall.
These will be open between 7 am and 10pm.
