German film shoot at Duchy College

DUCHY College Rosewarne said ‘willkommen’ to a German film company this week when they used the college as a backdrop for their new production.

FFP New Media are in the county filming a production of a Rosamunde Pilcher novel and are using the college’s micro propagation laboratory as a setting for some of the scenes. The laboratory has been transformed into a zoo operating theatre.

Roger Elliott, location manager with FFP New Media said: "We were very lucky to find Duchy College and get permission to film in the micro propagation lab, which has the right size rooms and equipment for the story. Everyone there has been extremely helpful and welcoming and we are looking forward to filming.”

German film and television makers FFP New Media were one of the first production companies in Germany to acquire film rights to Cornish author, Rosamunde Pilcher, and they can often be seen around the county filming their adaptations.

Andrew Counsell, head of Duchy College, said: “Rosewarne is a beautiful campus and we were only too happy for FFP New Media to take advantage of the setting and facilities. It makes perfect sense for other people to be able to enjoy the campus while the students are on their summer holiday.”
