Camborne free parking plan
8:00am Sunday 2nd September 2012 in News
A bid to improve town centre trade in Camborne will see two hours free parking offered to shoppers.
Ther town's Business Improvement District has arranged the scheme at Trevithick Road car park for the rest of this month, and all of October.
Mel Martin, BID Camborne manager, said: “Car parking charges are a big concern for local traders and visitors to town centres.
”We therefore wanted to deal with free parking early in the BID Camborne programme to see if offering and promoting free car parking can actually improve trade in the town.
“We want people who haven’t been to the town for a while to use this offer to come and take a look and ‘shop local’.
”The town has more than 150 vibrant local businesses, specialist shops, cafés and pubs, as well as some of your favourite national brands.”

Helston could have 'The Works' in the old Eddy's shop meerkats, it would be about the right size.
I thought Camborne did have the chance to discuss their car-park charges with Cornwall Council with a view to altering them not so long ago, but declined. Or perhaps my memory fails me.
