Rise in support for Fal River Autumn Walking Festival

THIS YEAR'S Fal River Autumn Walking Festival, sponsored by The Nare, has already secured more support from local businesses than last year, with nearly £11,000 raised so far towards the event compared to £8,000 in 2011.
Organisers are confident that they will reach their target of £13,000 to run the 2012 festival, which takes place from Friday, October 19 to Sunday, November 4.
Helen Mulhern, from Eventy - Marketing & PR, said: “To secure £8000 in funding to launch the festival last year was a great achievement as none of the organisations that we were approaching had experienced what we were offering.
“This year, many of the sponsors from last year want to be involved again due to the marketing returns that they saw and the event is receiving a great deal of interest from new sponsors.
“Fal River Autumn Walking Festival, sponsored by The Nare, is a non-profit event that over 3,000 walkers enjoyed last year. Companies sponsor the walks or advertise in the programme and the money from this goes into organising the festival.
“The sponsors benefit from a range of marketing returns in the Autumn - which is traditionally a shoulder month for the county when visitor numbers drop off and some tourism based companies suffer.”
Sponsorship opportunities start at £110 and deliver marketing returns such as inclusion in 10,000 programmes; company name and logo included under the title of the walk; logo and link on the website; logo on banners around the region; logo on posters around region; invite to the launch event including the St.Mawes ferry, a short walk and a high tea at the Nare; mention on the Facebook account; mention on the Twitter account.
There is also the opportunity to advertise in the 10,000 programmes being distributed around the region which start at £65 for a quarter page advert.
With sponsors' branding used on the website as well as in the programme, sponsors benefit from the exposure for many months, as the website is left live as a resource for people wanting to plan walks around the area.
Throughout the 17-day festival, walkers are invited to enjoy over 60 guided and self-guided walks around the beautiful Fal River, from the Roseland peninsula in the east, to Helford in the west and as far inland as Truro. Guided walks will be led by experts and will feature a variety of interesting subjects such as food foraging, Nordic Walking and local history. The self-guided walks and all information about the festival is available at www.falriver.co.uk/walkingfestival If you would like to sponsor a walk or advertise in the programme, please contact Eventy - Marketing & PR on 01326 376273 before Friday.
