A teenager from St Keverne is set to represent Cornwall when she takes part in the Miss Teen Great Britain national pageant this month.

Rebecca Medlin, of St Keverne has been named Miss Teen Cornwall after seeing off competition from hundreds of young girls to win her place in the grand final. Sixty teenage girls will compete for the crown at The Globe Theatre at Blackpool Pleasure Beach on Sunday, September 30.

Rebecca will also be raising money for the event's nominated charity, the Claire House Children's Hospice through various fundraising events.

Holly Ikin, the organiser of Miss Teen Great Britain said: “Rebecca has done fantastically to make it to the grand final of the competition. We were overwhelmed by the high standard of applicants for 2012. She has a great, natural look and we are excited to have her in the competition.”
