It was cheers, and beers, all round when Porthleven hosted its annual, unofficial beer festival.

Around 50 guests were able to sample a selection of local home-brews and judge the best.

Throughout the afternoon and evening they were also treated to a running buffet and a barbecue, manned by Steve ‘Bubbles’ Nicholls, where burgers, hot-dogs and fresh fish were available.

The festival, organised and hosted by Judy and Peter Collins, proved once again to be a huge success. The eventual winner was first time entrant Chris ‘Woody’ Stevens with his entry entitled Airedale Terrier.

The announcement was followed by a raffle and mini-auction, with the result being that Porthleven Gig Club and Porthleven Lights each received £110.

The day was finished off by Judy and Peter thanking everyone for their support and issuing an invitation to next year’s event.
