Human Rights Tour to take in Truro date

Human rights will be the subject of conversation at a specially held awareness event in Truro on Thursday, part of a nationwide tour.

Organised by the British Institute of Human Rights and held at Truro Town Hall, the event is the second date on a tour that will take in locations as far-flung as Inverness and Ipswich before finishing in York on December 12.

The aim of the tour is to "tell the real human rights story" and give example of how human rights are being applied in real world situations, such as:

• At the Mersey Care NHS Trust where they are using human rights to improve services

• At the Downs Syndrome Association where they are using human rights to support those they work with

• And how individuals are using human rights to challenge decisions that have left them vulnerable.
