Falmouth free parking scheme highlighted nationally

A free parking scheme developed by Falmouth BID has been highlighted nationally.

BID's successful February car parking scheme will be given an honourable mention by the body which oversees and lobbies at Government level on behalf of all BIDs in the UK.

The free parking scheme, the first of its kind in Cornwall, will be included in an annual report that highlights “innovative, cost effective schemes that deliver results”.

Richard Wilcox, Falmouth BID manager said: “It is very pleasing that one of Falmouth BID's innovative projects has been showcased at a national level such as this. The BID works hard to support its businesses and drive forward schemes and initiatives that promote Falmouth and encourage visits and spend."

Mr Wilcox added that BID worked closely with businesses in the town, with the free car parking days chosen to be those worked best for them and that Falmouth BID would be looking to build on its success next year.”

Excellent idea, I wish they would do this in Helston.

Helston is sleeping. It's managers are blinkered and do not see what is happening elsewhere, despite many prods from numerous quarters. I wish GZM would stand for the council, her comments in these forums show much more wisdom than our current councillors.

THORQUIP, Thank you, you are very kind, however, I do not think anyone else would agree with you on that idea, particularly the current councillors and the Mayor.
