Helston-based holiday lettings company Classic Cottages have added hundreds of extra properties to their portfolio by buying out Aspects Holidays for an undisclosed sum.
Aspects, of Hayle, was founded in 1989 by Jennie Smith and markets 296 holiday cottages, mostly in St Ives.
Despite now being owned by Classic Cottages, Aspects will continue to trade under its own brand and all 18 staff are being retained, according to a company spokesperson.
Simon Tregoning, chairman of Classic, said working with Aspects will give his company “first-hand experience of running multiple properties in the same location,” in addition to the 741 holiday homes they currently run across Devon, Cornwall, Dorset and Somerset.
He said: “Jennie has built up a successful and well-established business with a strong brand and specialist knowledge of St Ives, all of which was attractive to us.
“What we bring to the table is a range of digital marketing and information technology platforms that add real value for owners looking to maximise rental income.”
Jennie, who will still be involved in the business for at least the next year, added: “Simon and his team share so many of our value that this was an easy decision for us and we are looking forward to working together.
“Being part of a larger business will bring a range of benefits to our owners and customers - and keeping the Aspects Holidays brand means it is very much business as usual.”
