Divers have discovered what they believe is an unexploded bomb at the mouth of the Helford River.

A team led by Mark Milburn of Atlantic Scuba in Mabe discovered the suspicious device during a regular dive.

Mr Milburn said he believed it was a parachute mine type GC left over from the Second World War.

He has contacted the authorities and it is understood specialist divers are being sent to Cornwall by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.

They are expected to inspect the finding before deciding the best course of action.
