“App-y” students from Falmouth School have been hard at work making computer programs recently for a newly launched competition that saw the winner take home a £100 top prize.
The “Annual Computing Challenge” run in partnership with international pump manufacturer Watson Marlow Limited invited students to create an “app,” which stands for software application and could be a game or other more useful computer program.
Year ten student Gareth Willets won the £100 worth of Amazon vouchers as first prize for his homage to the popular retro video game “Asteroids,” while Callum Kitts came second with a “highly-addictive” maze-type platform game.
Jonny Far made third place with his app for “Android” phones that gives the latest news on his favourite football team West Ham.
