New officers elected at Helston and St Keverne YFC

Helston and St Keverne Young Farmers’ Club has elected its officers for the coming year at its annual general meeting last Thursday

Ed Savage was elected chairman and Christina Jenkin secretary for the 2012-2013 club year, supported by Hannah Smith as vice chairman and Beth Tremayne as assistant secretary, President is Andrew Bray, with Brindley Hosken as vice president, Matthew Williams as club leader and Nicola Williams and Chris Wearne assistant club leaders.

Pascoe is social secretary, Matthew Hosken treasurer, Rachael Benney assistant treasurer and Tom Ferris and Jess Lobb Skills for Life secretaries. Keeping the wider world informed of club activities will be Frances Hosken as club reporter, while Vicky Care will be club scrapbook keeper, Perran Gilbert will be boys’ tug of war captain and Marie Curits will be girls’ tug of war captain. Stockjudging secretary will be Daniel Rowe, programme secretary Rebecca Jenkin and auditor Bryn Kendall.

This year’s two new ladies’ advisory members are Jane Blee and Sally Bray, with Alan Jenkin and Richard Dark as the newest men’s advisory members, while the four club committee members are Alice Bryant, Peter Curnow, Kate Richards and Robbie Green.

There was a good attendance for the meeting, at which reports on the past year were given by outgoing treasurer Diana Williams and club leader Matthew Williams.

This year’s club dinner and dance is being held at the Green Lawns Hotel in Falmouth on Friday, October 26 starting at 7pm for 7.30pm dinner. Tickets are £20 each and are available from Diana Williams on 07854 727099 or Hannah Smith on 07792 264575.
