A Penryn cake maker has appeared on national television on the Alan Titchmarsh Show.
David Mason appeared alongside Alan and chef Paul Hollywood, who is one of the judges on TV baking show The Great British Bake Off.
David was invited onto the show along with two other men from Brighton and Cardiff, after a national newspaper ran an article about the Great British Bake Off attracting more male viewers than the football.
He was asked to take along a selection of cakes for Paul Hollywood to taste and admire. David, who bakes and decorates cakes for weddings and other celebrations through his business Dave’s All Occasion Cakes, told the Packet:
“It was a great experience, but extremely nerve-wracking – although I’d do it again, for definite.”
He said a large live audience made him most nervous. On the show, Paul had only positive comments for David and his baking.
