University College Falmouth name change

UNIVERSITY College Falmouth could be rechristened as Falmouth University as soon as next month.

The college’s rector, professor Anne Carlisle, was speaking to Falmouth Town Council on Monday to outline the long-term plans for the institution.

The name change is set to take place after the government announced it was granting the college full university status.

Professor Carlisle told the meeting: “We have had a letter from David Willetts last week that says we will be able to move through that process in a timescale that could see us announcing the final declaration in November or December.”
