Porthleven Cricket Club’s plans to attract advertising and sponsorship will be backed by the town council.
Julian Wearing, from the club, was granted members’ support in putting up advertising boards around the pitch and also applying for planning permission for new signs to identify the entrance, to “further engrain the club in the community”.
Mr Wearing said there were currently 60 members, with ages ranging from 13 to 73, and the club – which will celebrate 150 years soon – was currently working towards a five-year goal to improve facilities.
