Lakeside memorial to Stithians fisherman
A Stithians-based fly fishing club has unveiled a memorial bench to one of its former members.
The Nobby King Memorial Bench was donated by Nobby’s family and made by CAST Fly Fishing Club member Richard Buckingham.
Positioned at Goonlaze Point, which was a popular fishing spot for Nobby, who passed away in March, “it will provide a welcome resting area for anglers and walkers alike,” a spokesman for the club said.
He added: “Pasties were provided as Nobby's family and friends turned up in the rain to pay their respects to a very popular man.”
The dedication took place at the club’s annual John Battensby Memorial Trophy charity competition earlier this month.
