Protesting polar bear targets Shell

DRIVERS passing the Playing Place Shell garage on the A39 were treated to an unusual sight – a protesting polar bear.
The bear, or at least a man in a bear suit, joined members of Cornwall Greenpeace to raise awareness of a campaign to stop Shell from their plans to drill for oil in the Arctic.
The environmental campaigners were asking passing motorists to support their campaign.
Colin Newman a Greenpeace volunteer from Falmouth said: “We’re protesting at the Shell garage to tell them to stop their plans to drill in the Arctic, and we’re hoping lots of people from Cornwall will be interested and join in our campaign.”
