Chelsea House B&B in Falmouth has unveiled a new outdoor garden room for guests as its owners celebrate their first year in business.

Since taking over last year, owners Sharon Retson and Nigel Sillis have undertaken a complete restoration of the historic building in Emslie Road, built in 1908 as the home of a Dutch Packet Ship Captain.

Completing the restoration in May 2016, the B&B is now a trendy haven of vintage mid-century modern design, musical artwork and stunning sea view rooms with a friendly welcome.

“We are thrilled to celebrate our first anniversary, which represents a significant milestone for Chelsea House,” said Sharon. “I couldn’t be more proud of the success that our guesthouse has experienced thus far and we are excited to see what the future holds. We are confident Chelsea House will continue to inspire visitors from around the world to visit Falmouth and experience our warm welcome and everything the town has to offer."

In an effort to continuously evolve and adapt to meet the needs of the modern guest, the garden room has been added. Designed and installed by ModBox Spaces, of Bodmin, the space was created to meet Sharon and Nigel’s vision for a unique guest area on the lawn of the hotel.

Nigel added: “Our new garden room has been designed as a communal space for guests to relax and socialise outside of their rooms. We’ve had great feedback from guests who use the space to work, eat, chill out and enjoy the sea views and semitropical garden.

"At Chelsea House we aim to refresh the public’s perception of coastal B&Bs, and the new garden room has been the perfect milestone to celebrate our first year in business.”
