An established Falmouth undertakers has made a move into Penryn with the establishment of a bricks-and-mortar premises on The Terrace.

T Cooke Funeral Directors has taken up an office in the town centre, which was opened on Friday with a service led by Father Stephen Wales of St Gluvias Church.

Area manager Jamie Hawke read the funeral director's prayer, followed by a dedication and blessing of the office, before the Lord's Prayer was spoken, and the service was followed by refreshments.

The company has been providing funeral services for people from Penryn for years, from its branches of T Cooke and WJ Angove in Falmouth, and setting up a branch is the next step.

Steve Jane, acting funeral manager, said: "T Cooke's have been serving the community from a distance, and now we are delighted to have a branch in the community.

The new branch will be run by funeral consultants Barrie Lukey and Michael Badger, and Mr Jane added: "Barrie and Michael have been in the community for many years. This is a new venture."
