A family of renowned Cornish cider makers are toasting their success after clinching an award win and a major supermarket deal.

Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm, home of the popular Cornish Rattler and Cornwall’s oldest cyder producer, is now distributing the cloudy cider nationally via over 600 Tesco stores, after customers called for more local produce on the supermarket shelves.

The drink producer and visitor attraction near Truro has also celebrated winning gold in the British Bottlers’ Institute awards, highlighting the continued growth and success of the Cornish business.

Joe Healey, commercial director at Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm, said: “Rattler is our flagship brand and we’re immensely proud of its success. Thanks to its popularity we are now celebrating national distribution with Tesco, which is a fantastic achievement for the business and our family. We are delighted that even more people can head to their local Tesco and see our cyder on the shelves.

“The Tesco partnership comes as we celebrate another set of award wins, which shows that not only do customers appreciate being able to enjoy our drinks but so does the wider drinks industry.”

Healeys has been supplying its award-winning cider to Tesco stores across Cornwall and Devon since 2016. Rattler can also be found on sale at Morrisons supermarkets throughout the country.

And Rattler Original has scooped gold in the British Bottlers’ Institute Awards for ciders abv 5.5 per cent and above with Healeys Apple Juice also winning the top spot in the fruit juices category.

Joe added: “These award wins help to highlight the rising popularity and growth of the Cornish food and drink market and we are so excited to be a part of it.”
