A man has been arrested following a burglary where prescription drugs were stolen.

The Boots store, in Baytree Hill, was broken into at around 6.30pm on Sunday 29 June.

Officers believe two men smashed the front door, entered the shop and stole a quantity of Diazepam.

Sergeant Martin John, based in Liskeard, said: “We are concerned that people may have been offered the drug for sale.

“We are urging everyone to be aware of the consequences of taking Diazepam and the real threat to health of those who take it without prescription.

“If you have been offered it by someone other than a doctor, please call police.”

A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary in Station Road shortly afterwards. He has been released on police bail until July 14.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has been offered prescription drugs for sale in the area, is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference CR/085696/14, or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
