East Pool Mine is opening its gates to members of the public for free on Sunday, August 10.
Mine custodian Jo Warburton said: “It’s our chance to welcome families living nearby and far away who would like to visit this very special place, whether or not they are National Trust members.
Besides looking around the mine and engine houses there will be lots to do and see, that we hope will appeal to all ages.”
This year National Trust rangers will be building a bug hotel with help from visitors, and there is a chance to make a home for mini beasts to take away.
There will be vintage and classic cars, face painting the Red River Singers will be performing around the mine in the afternoon.
East Pool Mine is situated behind Morrisons Supermarket in Pooland the gates open at 10.30am and close at 4pm.
