A Breage man blamed a drug problem for his attempt at stealing razor blades worth £45.

Truro magistrates adjourned a case of attempted theft by Johnathan Fincham for probation and Adaction assessments.

Fincham, aged 43, of Pellor Fields, pleaded guilty to attempting to steal razor blades worth £45 from Tesco at Pool.

Alison May, for the CPS, said he had been seen in the store tampering with security labels on the razor blades and then putting them in his rucksack.

Paul Simons said he had a drug problem and had been stealing to fund his habit.
